Hi guys! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Today I want to get you all involved my starting a discussion. I’m very interested in your opinions & what you have the say about the next topic. I’ve also decided to make more personal related post so I can share more of myself with you and if you feel free to, it can be vice versa as well. I really want to get to know you guys!
So this have been going through my head for a while now and I’ve seriously thought about it. Is there room for another fashion blogger? This question was also asked during the presentation I held last week in Amsterdam. First of all I think we can all agree that since a couple of years the fashion blogging industry has grown tremendously. Becoming a fashion blogger has become an ideal job for a lot of people. Some for the right reasons and some for the ”wrong” you can say. I often do hear people saying the fashion blogging market has saturated so there’s no room any more for another fashion blogger.
I want to share my opinion on that. I personally think there is always room for a unique & creative person to ”enter” the world of (fashion) blogging and to inspire all of us with his/her ideas and perspectives on several topics. It doesn’t mean that because there are already very popular fashion bloggers like Chiara Ferragni, Kristina Bazan etc. that there is no room for another fashion blogger anymore. In every industry you have the ones that has reached the top. This just has to set the fire to work even harder. We’re all different. We all come from different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives and this is the beauty of it all that we can speak one language but all have our dialects which distinguishes us.
However I do believe that this industry has become booming so if you want to start your own personal style (fashion) blog it’s very important to do major research of how you want to start of & how you’re going to establish your brand which in this case would be your blog. I know sometimes it can be pretty tough to differentiate yourself from the bunch but I think it’s a combination of knowing your niche and using the right tool(s). Using the exact same tools as 7 years ago and going for the same route could be the wrong turn. There are new tools/platforms/channels that weren’t popular 7 years ago. That’s where you have to take advantage. So I do believe there is always room for a new fashion blogger BUT it will be crucial for him or her to really know its niche and who he/she represents as a unique brand. Nobody should discourage one another because something is ”overexposed”. I compare this to the music industry. Years after years people come to the top, then they make room for others upcoming stars. Uncountable songs produced each year but there are always new comers entering trying to position themselves somewhere and going reaching for the top. This is how I feel about it. I’m very curious to hear your honest opinion. What do you think?! Enough with the fashion bloggers?
