Hi guys! Welcome back to It’s True Blog! Today I’m going to share 3 reasons why you should travel solo at least once to a country you’ve never been before.
It’s almost Summer and you might have been checking flight tickets to a destination that has been on your bucket list for ages. You have the cash, you have the time and your passport is set yet you have no one to travel with. Either they don’t have time around that period you want to travel, no money for it or simply don’t want to go to that destination. So it’s either not to travel at all or clicking the ”pay” button on the travel website right? Uhm can you get your bank details ready cause here is why you should travel solo at once.

1. Tick off that bucket list
Most of us probably must have a bucket list if you love to travel around the globe. It doesn’t even have to be someone far. Maybe there are even some places/cities in your country that you would like to visit. Anyway there is a bucket list that needs to be ticked off. If you allow yourself to explore the world on your own now and then you will manage to tick off the places that you really want to visit quickly. You don’t have to wait until finally someone agrees to join you. If you have the money and time, hop on the plane and explore a new destination!

2. Memories for a life-time
Traveling creates memories that last for a life-time whether you travel with someone or solo. When you travel on your own for the first time, this will create a whole different experience for you. You learn how to enjoy time spent by yourself, how to open up to talk and meet new people and how to fully embrace the culture of the new destination.

3. Everything according to your time
This might be one of the biggest perks of traveling solo. Everything happens according to your time. You decide where and when to go, where to eat, sleep, chill and so on. You can now finally go to the musical that your friends find corny, you can finally go to the exhibition at the museum that your friends aren’t into or find boring. Long story short, you don’t have to take into account anyone’s interest. You get to experience the new destination based on what YOU want to do and WHERE you want to go.

4. Meet people that become friends for a life time
When you travel solo you are basically ”forced” to be more social or more open to meet new people. This can sound very scary in the beginning but it’s not. While you’re visiting the popular tourist attractions in the city you’re visiting, you will find loads of other travelers just like you. Starting a conversation doesn’t become awkward and there is no reason to put a barrier. When you meet people from around the globe, your network becomes very international. You will have more reason to visit the country where that other person is from when you become close with him/her. You get to create new friendships built on common interest which in this case is globetrotting😉
